Bounce Rate
Learn about bounce rate in marketing
What is Bounce Rate?
Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors who leave a website after viewing only one page without any interaction (e.g., clicks, scrolls, form submissions). In Google Analytics 4 (GA4), it’s replaced by 'engagement rate', but the concept remains useful. A high bounce rate isn’t always bad—e.g., a user finding a quick answer on a FAQ page may bounce but be satisfied. However, high bounce rates on key landing pages may indicate poor content relevance, slow load times, or misleading meta descriptions.
